Well there she is. That is Blueburn. After the demise of Thresher, I had to get a new Mt Bike and I decided to purchase a Trek 3900. Jeremy from Gregg's helped me pick the bike. Today was the maiden journey and I was going to put a real stress on her. I refer to the bike as her because it just feels that way to me. I decided to name my bicycle BlueBurn. Because obviously it is the color blue and it burns fat. I am not going to set any speed records with Blueburn, however it performs everything that I need it to do beautifully.

On my way to Golden Gardens there is this old rail road bridge that I just had to get a picture of. As you can see the skies were very overcast, and the temperature was perfect for riding.

This bridge reminds me of a huge behemoth rising from the ground.

I thought that this would make a wonderful picture as well.

On the way to Golden Gardens is a house that looks like lighthouse and and a pirate flag that was raised. It looks really cool.

I didn't take any pictures at Golden Gardens because I had already previously done that. After I left Golden Gardens and arrived at Freemont, I decided to take this picture of these statues. The community in Freemont always dresses and decorates these statues. During the whole Abu Grabe fiasco somebody decided to dress these statues with hoods over them. Like the same hoods that the prisoners in Abu Grabe wore.

This is an image Gas Works park. At one time this park used to be an old refinery. However because it released so much pollution it was shut down and turned into a park. A lot of people like to have paint ball gun fights there.

I also decided to take this picture of Seattle.

After I left Gas Works and was heading through the University district it occurred to me that I never took a picture of Husky Stadium.

One cannot see it but 520 floating bridge is in the back ground and the city of Bellevue as well. Behind BlueBurn is a plack that reads

Thanks Frederic and Aqquetta Blanchet.

When I finally arrived at Seward Park I saw this really cool old barge and tug boat. I thought that it would make a really cool photo for my blog.

The same spot that I took a picture of Thresher I decided to take a picture of Blue. I also had decided to stop for a half hour and eat a P&J sandwich. I felt so good, like I had accomplished something that few people decide to do. After I had finished my delicious sandwich and rehydrate I decided to lay down on the bench for a minute.

Before I left I checked how far I had traveled. I couldn't believe that it had been that many miles. I was hardly even tired at all.

So this the Arboretum. Last time I was through here I didn't have the time to take pictures because I did not want to stop. There is nothing but rolling hills through here, one hardly needs to pedal at all and it is a whole lot of fun.

I do not recommend this at all. But I decided to take photos as I was riding. Don't do that, keep your eyes on the road.

But this is a wonderful place to ride. There is not a whole lot of traffic and the roads are very smoothly paved.

As I was almost through the Arboretum my spandex riding shorts were bunching up against my nut sacks and it is very uncomfortable. I finally had to reach inside my shorts and lift my nut sack up. That felt a lot better. I was very glad that there was nobody around to see me do that. Because I had to stand up on my pedals and with one hand steer my bicycle, and with the other hand reach down my shorts. I am sure it looked very odd.

The construction on the fountain at the University of Washington was finally completed. There were Canadian Geese that were in the fountain and as I took my camera out to take a picture one of the geese saw that and swam over. Then five more of them followed. I think that they thought I was going to throw some food to them.

I only took this photo again because this pretty much a home stretch. Not exactly a straight line but I do not stop again until:

I get home and traveled 35 miles. I had forgotten to attach my milometer when I left home. So there was a whole 10 miles that did not get recorded. I did not attach my milometer until I left Golden Gardens.
